From Global Ambition to the Unspoken Cost of Success
At the age of 20, I was a young, fire-driven entrepreneur, building my first factory in India and successfully exporting heavy engineering components across the ocean to the USA. It was the ultimate entrepreneurial high. I was living the global dream: moving my family—my wife and three young children—across continents, constantly relocating between India, the USA, and China to keep pace with my growing empire.
On the surface, it was success. But beneath the thrill of the hustle, a hidden chaos was taking its toll. Every move—packing, navigating new cultures, finding schools—was a logistical nightmare that drained our emotional reserves. I was a businessman who built global systems, yet I was powerless against the quiet exhaustion and disorientation of constantly starting over. I was experiencing Relocation Stress Syndrome (RSS), and the internal cost of success was straining my family and my spirit.
The Wall That Defined Purpose
The true test of resilience came with unimaginable tragedy: the sudden loss of my wife in a car accident. In an instant, my world shattered.
Grief became inextricably woven with the physical and emotional burden of relocation. Uprooting my life to return to India to raise my children, and later relocating again to sustain the business, transformed routine moves into insurmountable barriers. I realized that if a seasoned entrepreneur, with resources and drive, could be brought so low by the stress of transition and loss, what about the most vulnerable among us—our seniors? They face downsizing a cherished home of decades, often alone, with health challenges amplifying the pain.
The epiphany hit me with profound clarity: My hard-won lessons and my deepest pain could be channeled into a powerful purpose.
